What exactly do I get with my Starlink rental?

Where can I use Starlink?

Starlink covers a big chunk of Canada—and plenty of spots around the globe, too. If you’re venturing beyond Canada, just note there’s an additional fee to use the Starlink network abroad. Coverage can vary by location, so do a quick check on the Starlink coverage map (and maybe peek at the forecast while you’re at it) before you hit the road.

Is setup complicated?

No way! Here’s the short version:

  1. Grab your kit at our location.
  2. Find a clear patch of sky—Starlink loves zero obstructions.
  3. Hook up the cable from the Starlink to the router.
  4. Plug it in to your power source.
  5. Use the Starlink app on your phone to finalize configuration.
Boom, you’re online. If you do find yourself scratching your head, our support team is on standby (and we don’t believe in hold music).

Is there a deposit?

Yup. We ask for a refundable security deposit—typically $300 for Standard kits. As long as everything comes back in one piece, you’ll see that deposit returned to your account within 2–5 business days. Easy peasy.

What if the Starlink equipment is damaged or lost?

If Bigfoot swipes your rental equipment or it ends up with damage beyond normal wear and tear, we’ll have to dip into your deposit to cover repair or replacement. If costs exceed your deposit, we’ll charge the difference to the card on file. Basically, treat your rental like it’s your new best friend.

How do I pick up and return the equipment?

All rentals are picked up and dropped off at our location. We’ll schedule a pickup time that works for you. When your adventure wraps up, bring everything back by the agreed date in its original protective case. That’s it! We’d love to hear your travel stories while you’re here, too.

What if there's no signal or poor connectivity?

Starlink is a big fan of clear skies. If you’re parked under a canopy of trees or nestled against a towering cliff, performance may dip. We recommend testing your spot with the Starlink app before you fully set up camp. If things still aren’t zipping along, our support team is just a call away.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Before pickup: You’ll snag a full refund (minus any processing fees) if you cancel.

After pickup: We’ll pro-rate your rental charge depending on how long you’ve had the kit. Your deposit is still refunded once we confirm everything’s returned safe and sound.

Where can I get support during my rental?

Can I extend my rental if I’m not ready to come back to civilization?

We totally get it—those mountains call your name. If you want to keep your kit a bit longer, just let us know before your return date. As long as it’s available, we’ll work out an extended rental plan so you can keep chasing sunsets without losing service.
